What is the purpose of a CDP survey ?

CDP is a Tool that diagnoses a company.

It also is a Process. It suggests recommendations of actions to implement.

The Corporate Development Process pinpoints the strengths and weaknesses of an organisation in handling the employees’ and workers’ motivation.

Motivation has direct impact on the people’s commitment towards their company.

Its level influences the clients’ perception of the company business excellence and it determines the potential business growth of the organisation.

Measuring the motivation creates furthermore expectations in the employees’ mind.

The clients’ perception, the business growth and the employees’ expectations are of such importance that the rationale behind surveys has a single and predominant purpose : the necessity to enhance the personnel’s motivation.

The implementation of actions is the second and recommended step towards this enhancement. CDP responds to the management’s willingness to develop the organisation and to its commitment towards a learning organisation.

Having indicated the actual root or origin of the obtained level of motivation, CDP suggests actions as well to reinforce the motivation of the organisation.

These actions are clear, simple and directly related to the selected Key Success Factors or Performance Indicators.

They deal with those aspects that employees and workers encounter when working in a company: To Share Information, State the Sources and Facts,…

-To Design Clear Guidelines, map a step-by-step road to the end result,…

-To Create Goodwill, Give praise, and Recognition to whom it is due,…

-To Create a Trusting Environment, Share the future vision with everyone,…

-To Allow different viewpoints, Never discard any warning signals or negative messages,…

-To Reward Sincerity, Avoid power politics which cloud the real issues,…

-To Give Clear Instructions, Give step-by-step instructions, Use simple language

-To Provide Creative Challenge, Rotate routine work, Appoint workers as project leaders,…

-To Promote Job Enjoyment, Maintain a clean and healthy workplace, paintwork, adequate lighting and ventilation,…

-To Allow people to participate, immediately share information with those people who are likely to be affected by it,…

For each driver, CDP gives recommendations of actions.

The ones to implement will be chosen according to the culture of the company, the main expectations of the personnel, the companies’ priorities and vision.

The Corporate Development Process model gives here powerful and effective ways to energise an organisation towards its business excellence.
